Hi John. Great website! Only thing is, when viewing the mobile version of this site, the Menu icon seems a bit out of place. 🙂 Keep the great work going!
Your site helped me have a good understanding of admin essentials and I successfully passed the admin certification (ADM 201) exam this week. Appreciate your time and efforts in building this website.
Do you have any suggestions for preparing myself on Advanced Administration certification?
Congrats! Glad to hear it!! Can I request that you fill out course feedback if you haven’t already? http://certifiedondemand.com/getting-certified-feedback/
I haven’t really evaluated advanced admin recently. At some point I will need to create a post about how I study for certification. The gist is the following:
1. Understand the topic materials (break out each point into sub-points) – CoD objectives
2. Find relevant materials (youtube, help, blogs, etc.) – CoD resources
3. Get into the Salesforce and configure it- understand how it all fits together.
I don’t know of any materials out there that have done the leg work for advanced admin unfortunately, however. Good luck!
Hi John – thanks for your reply above! Also wanted to report back that I also passed my certified admin exam last week at Dreamforce and absolutely credit your site for helping me get there! With the sheer volume of data out there the structure REALLY helped put my mind at ease and make sure I covered the requirements well. Hoping to add a few more badges in the next couple of years. Just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!! Advanced Admin and perhaps the developer certifications are my next quests 🙂
Congrats Ann! I love to hear this kind of feedback. Check out the developer podcasts (old but good) if I don’t have access to premiere training – there is a large overlap between certified adm and dev.
Also, I would encourage you to submit feedback for the course overall: http://certifiedondemand.com/getting-certified-feedback/
I passed my Admin 201 and Dev 401 in back to back months. Going for the Sales cloud in December. Thanks for putting this site together! It’s the best resource I have found!!
I don’t know if I’m the only one to have this issue, but was wishing there was a way to not log in multiple times during one session. I keep getting logged out as I read through documentation which can be a bit annoying to navigate back to where I was in the guide. Nothing crazy! Just a recommendation 🙂 Finding the guide SUPER helpful thus far!
Hi Ann – I’m working on this!
I’m glad I took the time to read Ann’s comment and I second her request as well as her sentiment that this guide is pretty great! Thanks for putting this together.
I am planning on taking the exam in two weeks, is this site plus salesforce premier training videos enough preparation?
The short answer is yes. The long answer is more subjective – it really depends on how thoroughly you prepare – the content for the exam should be covered.
A request for minor change to Login page.
Whenever the login page is displayed, can you keep the cursor focus on Username field so that user can start entering the Username right away. It will avoid using the mouse/touchpad to enable the Username field for accepting values. This will also help us save time as the system keeps timing out frequently and the user has to enter Username and Password frequently.
Thanks for making this change.
I am considering purchasing the full site access, but I am studying for the 211 exam. Will it help with that as well, or just the 201? (I read the post from April, but did not know if there had been a change or expanded information.)
Do you mean 301? It will help for other exams (including dev and advanced admin), but will not include all topics. Thanks!
Yes, that is the exam I mean. Salesforce has changed the name to 211. Thank you for the info. I will sign up for the paid version.
Hi! I paid for the signup and still I couldn’t access the paid modules . What do I have to do?
I’m a paid full member and logged in to http://certifiedondemand.com/login/ . Why am I getting the message below when I click on Overview – Quiz. I got the same message when I clicked on Getting Started – Review/Quiz (?) Also, I logged in again and clicked on Overview – Quiz. Still I am getting the same message.
2. Why am I logged out? Thanks for your assistance.

There appears to be a bug in the membership plugin that I am working on tracking down – logging in a second time should fix the issue. I have heard several complaints of frequent logouts, and have experienced it myself… but it seems to be intermittent. I’m working on it and will hopefully have a fix soon.
This resource provides a great way to systematically cover a lot of material. Thanks for all the work you’ve put into this. I just purchased the full content so I can work through the rest of the scenarios and quizzes. I’m about halfway through it right now.
Additionally, I know it’s been asked, but is a Developer/Advanced Admin version of this on the roadmap at all – as in ever? Just curious. Do you know of any good online resources for self study on those exams in the meantime? Thanks again for all your work on this.
Check out the developer podcast on itunes from Salesforce – it is old but I found it helpful.
what is the difference between Paid version and a normal one ? I just paid, but noticed that all the features are available even in free version
The free version does not allow access to most of the guide content in the non-free sections (a preview is shown only); quizzes are also blocked.
I am planing to give exam in 3 weeks from today.. will be studying from your site..:)
I have my exam in next 2 weeks. I have not used any materials other than your site. Please advise if this should be sufficient to pass. Also are you planning to publish info for other certifications like developer, Sales cloud, Service cloud, consultant, advanced admin . Would love to have it. I am sure there will be folks ready to pay for the access for these certification guides.
There isn’t a magic recipe to know when you’re ready for certification for sure. If you are doing well on the practice tests and you an understanding of the topics outlined in the guide, then that is a very strong indicator. There is one section missing (workflow) – make sure to cover this on your own. This site is designed to be one-stop yes, but ultimately there are no guarantees. Good luck!
Also, other study guides (Sales, Service, etc.) are probably not on the near horizon 🙁
Seems like a temporary problem. I can use the quiz without any issues now.
Trying to access quiz for record types.. not able to do that.. can you please look into that?
I don’t see any issues… what’s happening on your end?
Thanks for your help. Passed Certified Admin today… pretty much your site, some quiz sites and you tubes video’s did the trick. Glad I did not have to spend thousands of dollars to take the training course. I might consider another certification in the future.
I keep getting the message that I have to login again…even though I am logged in. I did pay for this service a while back and would like to really work on this as I am taking the test this week.
[Revolved via email – please let me know if you have any other problems.]
I took the test this past Sunday and passed.
I am going to take the Sales Cloud Consultant soon.
Is there going to be a section for the Sales Cloud Consultant Exam ?
Possibly, but it won’t be for some time.
Thank you John,
I couldn’t find a section for Workflow .That is now part of ADM 201 .Could you let me know if it will be covered soon?
I don’t have an exact date. I am working on several sections and will have them up asap.
John your excellent site and comprehensive collection of resources are the main reason I just passed my ADM201 exam. Well done, good luck for the roll out of the rest of the site and I look forward to coming back for my next certification
I’m being asked to log in every 1/2 hr , is this something new?
I am logged into the Website and even though I have regristered I am unable to access the stuff that is not free. Please help I have signed up to take the exam end of this month. I signed up using paypal so I could access all the contents . I dod not have access to the tabs as shown in the getting started walkthrough.
Adam, in the meantime, Salesforce assembled a number of great resources for learning how to create reports and dashboards here: https://help.salesforce.com/HTViewQuickStarts?id=000113375&language=en_US . I’d also recommend YouTube videos (some from Dreamforce) including “Hands On Training: Drive Sales Productivity with Reports and Dashboards” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDyqsIZAXu0 ) . I’d also suggest searching YouTube with the phrase “Salesforce Cross-Filters” – that will bring up several excellent recorded modules on newer features such as cross-filters, budgeting and joined reports.
Can you please recommend any good links or youtube videos to help me to get ready for reporting/analytics section of admin exam. I have a exam on June 10th. Any help is much appreciated.
I’m experiencing a problem on the overview page for the User Interface section. I’m logged in, however, when I scroll down I see a message saying that I need to login to see the rest of the content.
Please disregard, it seems to be working now!
This is great site. I am using your site to prepare for admin exam. Did not find the reports and dashboards section? Can you please point me to it?
The reporting section isn’t complete yet, although it is next in the hopper. Stay tuned!
Any ETA when the reporting section will be available for us to use? Meanwhile can you please recommend any good links or youtube videos to help me to get ready for admin exam. I have a exam on June 10th. Any help is much appreciated.
The current guide http://certifiedondemand.com/salesforce-com-certified-administrator/ and its questions are designed to be similar to the 201 exam, although there may be some overlap with 301.
Nice site. Questions seem to be written much better than most other sites. Are these questions similar to the questions on the 301 exam, or just the 201 exam?
